Complete Stories

Juan José Saer

SHORT STORIES, 2001. EL ALEPH NEW EDITION, 2012. 784 PAGES.

Saer, one of the greats of 20th Century literature, introduced a new, intense and oblique way of reading. An approach in which the reader participates -almost as in an ancient rite- in places and settings, in the diffuse memory of narrative events and the coming and going of characters.

The result is a unique perspective of the world in which lyricism is combined with new ways of being and language is mixed with politics. Saer's Cuentos completos (Complete Stories) show that his "imaginative world is vast, multiple and diverse."
